Mstislav Valeryanovich Dobuzhinsky - painter, graphic artist, scenographer, member of the creative association “World of Art,” master of urban landscape.
Petersburg, Moscow, Vilnius, London, Naples - these cities go through all the work of Dobuzhinsky.
At the Yerevan Museum of Russian Art, Mstislav Dobuzhinsky is represented by the 1911 painting “Glass Street.” It is an urban landscape depicting one of the picturesque streets of Vilno (so called the city of Vilnius until 1939). A narrow and winding street in the Old Town of the Lithuanian capital owes its name to a glass manufactory founded in this part of the city. The work is painted in mixed technique. This technique - watercolor, gouache, pastel and coal - was often used in his painting by the artist Mstislav Dobuzhinsky, a psychologist and poet of the city.
