{"id":4176,"date":"2020-04-24T18:36:23","date_gmt":"2020-04-24T18:36:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rusart.webapricot.am\/authors\/%d5%bd%d5%a5%d6%80%d5%a3%d5%a5%d5%b5-%d5%b5%d5%b8%d6%82%d6%80%d5%ab%d6%87%d5%ab%d5%b9-%d5%bd%d5%b8%d6%82%d5%a4%d5%a5%d5%b5%d5%af%d5%ab%d5%b6\/"},"modified":"2022-02-21T06:41:27","modified_gmt":"2022-02-21T06:41:27","slug":"sergei-sudeikin","status":"publish","type":"authors","link":"https:\/\/rusartmuseum.am\/en\/authors\/sergei-sudeikin\/","title":{"rendered":"Sergei  Sudeikin"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 1907 the only exhibition of the \u00abBlue Rose\u00bb art group was held in Moscow, in which Sergey Sudeikin, a graduate of the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of Peterburzhetz, also took part. <br>He was in the domain of the theater, and from the first steps of entering the artistic life he attracted the attention of theatrical figures. <br>Before you are the sketches of sets and costumes for the production of the comedy \u201cThe Marriage of Figaro,\u201d painted by tempera on cardboard. In 1915, the director of the Moscow Chamber Theater, Alexander Yakovlevich Tairov, staged the famous work of Pierre-Augustin Beaumarchais \u201cThe Marriage of Figaro.\u201d The scenographer was Sergey Sudeikin. This production allowed him to plunge into the 18<sup>th<\/sup> century France, the age of the marquises and powdered wigs. <br>Besides the theater, a bright page of Sudeikin\u2019s creative activity is presented his works for St. Petersburg artistic cabarets \u201cStray Dog\u201d and \u201cComedians Halt.\u201d <br>The painting \u201cPetrushka\u201d by Sergei Sudeikin depicts a vagabond puppet theater and his few spectators. Dolls play on a small stage; a man plays harmonica, and in the center of the composition is Petrushka &#8211; the main character of Russian folk puppet shows. Such performances were held in Russia during [ublic festivities.<br> After the Bolshevik Revolution, Sergei Sudeikin moved to Paris, and then to the United States. <br>In 1923, the artist\u2019s works were exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum and the Carnegie Institution (Pittsburgh). In 1929, he had a solo exhibition at the Art Institute in Chicago, and then a series of personal exhibitions in private galleries in New York and Los Angeles. The last years of the artist\u2019s life passed in illness and destitution. <br>S. Yu. Sudeikin at the Museum of Russian Art (Prof. A.
