Alexander Vasilievich Kuprin was a permanent participant of exhibitions of the \u201cJack of Diamonds\u201d artistic association.
Kuprin\u2019s early works presented at Yerevan Museum of Russian Art – \u201cThe Tree over the Overgrown Pond\u201d and \u201cGudauta\u201d – expressive are and distinguished by free and expansive painting.
In the late \u201cStill Life with the Braided Bottle\u201d the echoes of Cezannism are felt.
Since 1926, Kuprin has systematically painted in the nature, both sketches and large paintings. In this period, the landscape genre became the main in the artist\u2019s work. His Crimean landscapes were painted with great love. Professor A. Abrahamyan\u2019s collection contains one of them, called \u201cCrimea. Old Fountain.\u201d The landscape was painted in 1927-1928 in Bakhchisaray. In the late landscapes of Kuprin, especially in the Crimean ones, the lyrical gift of this wonderful Russian painter is revealed.
